Give Your Fish the Protection They Deserve

Predator-Free Farms

Picture
The SalmonSafe™ System protects salmon and other farm raised fish from predatory seals, and other mammalian predators, without harming the environment, or the predators. By working with the environment, SalmonSafe™ leverages Mother Nature to provide a predator-friendly sound barrier that surrounds and safeguards farm raised fish.

Our acoustic barrier drastically reduces the costs associated with:
  • Predator reduction programs, such as shooting seals.
  • Equipment repair and replacement, including installing and maintaining anti-predation netting and cages.

Happy Fish = Healthy Fish

From the Lab to the Farm
Studies suggest that the benefits of this seamless removal of predators from your fish environment go beyond preventing population attrition and loss due to predation and can directly benefit the fish. For example, studies show that removing stress associated with the 'fight or flight' reaction and the resulting tranquil environment directly leads to:
  • An increased growth rate
  • Stronger immune system (also here)
SalmonSafe isn't just lab work and research papers.

It works on the Farm, too.

Unique Revolutionary Pathway
GenusWave's acoustic technology replaces loud deterrents (to which predators habituate) with the startle reflex - activating the fundamental mammalian reflex that protects the animal from harm. A specific frequency triggers an instinctive flight response that conditions the animal to avoid the area. The seals do not habituate to the reflex; repeated exposure only leads to increased responsiveness.
